Brzeg

Brzeg is a small city in southwestern Poland, situated on the Odra (Oder) River. It is the capital of the Opole Voivodeship. The city has a population of approximately 85,000.

Brzeg's history dates back to the 9th century, when it was mentioned as a border fortress of the Great Moravian Empire. In the 12th century, it became a part of the Silesian Piast dynasty. The city was almost completely destroyed during World War II, but has been rebuilt and is now a popular tourist destination.

Brzeg is home to several notable tourist attractions, including the Gothic-style St. John the Baptist Church, the Renaissance-style Town Hall, and the ruins of the Brzeg Castle. The city is also known for its annual cultural festival, the Brzeg Dolny International Folk Festival.
