Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch

These massive granite boulders have been naturally sculpted by wind and sea, creating unique shapes that spark the imagination. The area has a boardwalk for easy access and offers panoramic views of the coastline. Another key geological feature is Admirals Arch, a natural rock bridge formed over thousands of years. Accessible via a boardwalk, Admirals Arch is also home to a colony of New Zealand fur seals, often seen resting on the rocks below.

Wildlife Encounters

Flinders Chase National Park is rich in wildlife. As you explore the park, you are likely to see kangaroos grazing in open areas and koalas resting in eucalyptus trees. Cape du Couedic is another excellent spot in the park to observe New Zealand fur seals in their natural habitat. Hiking Trails

For a shorter hike, the Platypus Waterholes Walk is a relatively easy path that winds through diverse habitats, providing opportunities to see platypus, especially during dawn and dusk.

How to Get There

Flinders Chase National Park is located on the western end of Kangaroo Island. You can reach Kangaroo Island by ferry from Cape Jervis on the mainland, followed by a drive of approximately two hours from Penneshaw ferry terminal to the park entrance. Inside the park, well-maintained roads connect major attractions.
