Djibouti
Djibouti is a country located in the Horn of Africa. It is bordered by Eritrea in the north, Ethiopia in the west and south, and Somalia in the southeast. The Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden lie to the east. French and Arabic are the country's official languages. The majority of the population is Sunni Muslim.
The economy of Djibouti is based on service activities and is dominated by the Port of Djibouti. The country is also a major transit point for goods from Ethiopia and Somalia. The terrain of Djibouti is mostly flat and barren with some mountains in the north and northeast. Djibouti is home to the Day Forest National Park, the largest national park in the country.
The cuisine of Djibouti is a mixture of Somali, Afar, Yemeni, and French influences. The main staples are rice, pasta, and meat. Seafood is also very popular. Some popular dishes include; Fahsa: a dish made with rice, meat, and vegetables, Yahni: a stew made with meat and vegetables, and Baji: fried rice balls.
