Alcoi (in Valencian) or Alcoy (in Spanish) is a city located in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community, Spain.
The city is located in the comarca of Alcoià, in the foothills of the Serra de Mariola. It is located on the banks of the river Serpis.
Alcoi is a city of contrasts: it is surrounded by mountains and forests, but also has a busy industrial sector. The main tourist attractions are the old town, with its narrow streets and the castle of Santa Bárbara, and the Benàmera nature reserve.
The city is also known for its traditional festivities, such as the Moors and Christians festival in September, and the Cavalcade of Giants and Big Heads in May.
