Maó, located on the Spanish island of Menorca, is a hidden gem. The town is a maze of narrow streets and white-washed houses, with a small harbour filled with fishing boats. The town is home to a number of churches, including the impressive Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla, and the castle, Castell de Maó, which overlooks the town. There are also a number of interesting museums, including the Archaeological Museum and the Menorcan Ethnological Museum. Maó is a great place to relax, with a number of good restaurants and cafes, and a lovely beach, Cala en Porter, just a short walk away.
