Vic is a small, historic town in the province of Barcelona, in the northeast of Spain. It’s best known as the birthplace of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order, and is now home to the impressive Basilica of Saint Ignatius. The town is a great base for exploring the stunningly beautiful Catalan countryside, with its rolling hills, ancient villages and vineyards. It’s also a convenient stop on the way to the Pyrenees, and there are plenty of outdoor activities on offer in the area, from hiking and cycling to skiing and snowboarding in the winter. The town itself is a delightful place to wander around, with its narrow streets, old stone houses and atmospheric plazas.
