Ambala is a city in the Indian state of Haryana. It is located in the north-east of the state, and is the headquarters of Ambala district. Ambala is a leading industrial center in northern India, with a large number of textile mills, chemical plants, and engineering works. The city is also known for its handicrafts, particularly its woodwork. Ambala is also an important railway junction, and is connected by rail with New Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, Amritsar, and Jammu.
