Hamedan is a city in western Iran. It is the capital of Hamadan Province and has a population of 1,650,000. Hamedan is believed to be the world's oldest city. The main symbols of Hamedan are the Ganj Nameh inscription, the Avicenna monument and the Baba Taher monument. The city is also home to the tombs of the prophet Daniel, the prophet Ezekiel, the prophet Habakkuk and Esther.
