Calala Island

Your private slice of paradise in a sea of volcanoes.

Secluded paradise of Calala Island, Nicaragua. A private 4-acre haven powered by solar energy.

Welcome to Calala Island, a private paradise located off the Caribbean coast of Nicaragua. It is one of the few hundred islands known as the Pearl Cays, and it has room for only one group of guests at a time.

Calala Island is a small island, with a size of just four acres. It is surrounded by turquoise water, white sandy beaches and lush tropical vegetation. Here, you can truly unwind and disconnect from the outside world.

The coral reefs around the island provide a home for a wide variety of marine life and are a delight for snorkelers. Fishing enthusiasts can try their hand at catching snapper, grouper, or even barracuda.

The island is also known for its commitment to sustainability. All the structures on the island are constructed from locally sourced materials and the resort is powered by solar energy. The island is also involved in a project to protect the local turtle population.

Getting to Calala Island is quite an adventure in itself. It involves a short flight from Managua to Bluefields, followed by a boat ride to the island.
