Kapan is a small town in the Syunik Province of Armenia. It is located on the slopes of Mount Kaputjugh, on the banks of the Zangi River. The town is home to the Kapan Fortress, which is a 9th-century fortress. The fortress is a popular tourist destination. The town is also home to the Kapan Mine, which is a copper mine. The mine is the largest employer in the town.
