Benguela

Benguela is a city on the Atlantic coast of Angola. It is the capital of Benguela Province. The city has a population of about 331,000 and is the second largest city in Angola. Benguela was founded in 1587 by the Portuguese. The city is home to a number of historical buildings, including the Fortaleza de São Miguel, the Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Carmo, and the Igreja de São Pedro. The city is also home to a number of beaches, including the Praia de Benguela and the Praia do Cassange.
