The Gelmersee is a picturesque mountain lake in the Bernese Oberland region of Switzerland. At an elevation of 2,362 metres above sea level, it is the highest lake in the country. The lake is located in the Gelmer Valley, part of the Grimsel Pass, and is surrounded by snow-capped peaks. The crystal-clear water is a popular spot for swimming, boating, and fishing. There is a small dam at the north end of the lake, and a hydroelectric power station at the south end. The Gelmersee is a popular tourist destination, and is easily accessible by road or cable car.
