Montreux is a lakeside town in the canton of Vaud, Switzerland, on the eastern shore of Lake Geneva. It is located in the district of Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut. Montreux has a population of about 18,600.

The town is perhaps best known for its association with jazz musician Claude Nobs and the annual Montreux Jazz Festival, which is one of the largest and most famous jazz festivals in the world. It is also known for its château, the Montreux Casino, and for being the home of Freddie Mercury.
