Once considered one of the most dangerous cities in the world, Medellín is now a thriving metropolis and a popular tourist destination. Located in the Aburrá Valley in the Colombian Andes, the city is surrounded by mountains and enjoys a temperate climate. The main attractions are the city’s many parks and gardens, including the beautiful Botanical Garden, and the lively nightlife in the downtown district. The city is also home to a number of interesting museums, including the Museo de Antioquia, and a number of excellent restaurants.
