Valga is a small town in southern Estonia, on the border with Latvia. It’s a pretty place, with a charming main square and a well-preserved old town. The surrounding countryside is lovely too, with forests, rivers and rolling hills. The town is a convenient base for exploring the area, and there’s plenty to see and do, from hiking and cycling to exploring the many small villages in the area. There are also a few interesting museums and other attractions, and the locals are friendly and welcoming. Valga is a great place to relax and soak up the atmosphere of rural Estonia.
