Siwa Oasis

Siwa Oasis is a small oasis in the Western Desert of Egypt, located between the Qattara Depression and the Egyptian-Libyan border. It is one of Egypt's most isolated settlements, with about 43,000 people. The oasis is located in a deep depression that contains the Great Sand Sea and the Qattara Depression.

The oasis has a history dating back to at least the 26th Dynasty of Egypt (c. 650 BC), and was used as a stop for caravans travelling to and from the Mediterranean coast.
