Bedford is a small town in the English county of Bedfordshire, about an hour’s drive north of London. It’s best known as the home of the Bedfordshire Bluebell Railway, a heritage steam railway that runs for six miles from the town to the village of Wilden. The town is also a convenient base for exploring the surrounding countryside, including the Chiltern Hills and the Bedfordshire Green Belt. Bedford is a quiet and unassuming town, but it has a lot to offer visitors, including a selection of pubs, restaurants and shops, and a number of historical and cultural attractions.
