Bandar Lampung is a seaport city on the southern tip of Sumatra, Indonesia. It is the capital of Lampung Province, and the second largest city in Sumatra after Palembang. The city had a population of 788,624 at the 2010 Census; the latest official estimate (for January 2014) is 832,705.
Lampung is a melting pot of different cultures. The city is home to people of various religions, including Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, and Hindus. The mayor is a Muslim, while the deputy mayor is a Christian.
The city is known for its seafood, especially shrimp. There are also several seafood restaurants in the city.
