Jamaica
Jamaica is an island nation in the Caribbean Sea, slightly south of Cuba. Jamaica is the third-largest island in the Caribbean, after Cuba and Hispaniola. The capital and largest city is Kingston, and the official language is English.
Jamaica is a popular tourist destination because of its warm climate, beautiful beaches, and lush vegetation. The island is also home to several species of endemic birds, including the Jamaican tody and the Jamaican pauraque. The country is also famous for reggae music which was created in Jamaica before it spread across the world, the reggae legend Bob Marley was born in Kingston.
Jamaican cuisine is a fusion of African, Spanish, Indian, and British influences. The national dish is jerk chicken, which is chicken that has been marinated in a spicy jerk sauce and then grilled or roasted. Other popular dishes include curry goat, ackee and saltfish, and fried plantains.
