Tauragė is a small town in the north-west of Lithuania, known for its grandiose neo-Gothic castle. The castle was built in 1893 as a residence for the Russian governor, and today it is a popular tourist attraction. The town is also home to a number of beautiful churches, including the neo-Byzantine Holy Trinity Church, and a number of interesting museums, including the Tauragė Regional Museum. There are a number of parks and green spaces in Tauragė, and the town is surrounded by forested hills.
