Saltillo is the capital and largest city of the northeastern Mexican state of Coahuila. The city is located about 245 kilometers (152 mi) west of the Texas border, and about 90 kilometers (56 mi) south of the US city of Monterrey.
Saltillo is a large industrial city and is the regional center for the states of Coahuila, Nuevo León, and Tamaulipas. There is a significant American and foreign population in the city. The city is also home to the largest concentration of factories in Mexico.
Saltillo is served by Manuel P. Acosta Airport, with domestic and international flights.
