Peshawar is an ancient city in the north-west of Pakistan, close to the Afghan border. It’s one of the country’s most conservative and religious cities, and is home to the prestigious Darul Uloom Haqqania madrasa, which has educated many of the Taliban’s leaders. Despite its conservative image, Peshawar is a fascinating and vibrant city, with a rich history and a lively bazaar. The city is also a gateway to the stunning Swat Valley and the Hindu Kush mountains.
