Adamstown is the only settlement on the Pitcairn Islands, an isolated British Overseas Territory in the south Pacific Ocean. It is located on the island of Pitcairn, which is the sole inhabited island of the territory. The only other island is Henderson Island, which is a nature reserve. Adamstown has a population of 56, of whom 35 are Pitcairn Islanders. The other 21 are descendants of the mutineers of the HMS Bounty, who settled on Pitcairn in 1790.
