Palau

World War wrecks and crystal clear water.

Palau is an archipelago of over 500 islands, part of the Micronesia region in the western Pacific Ocean. Palau's neighbors are Indonesia, the Philippines and Micronesia.

The country is known for its pristine beaches, coral reefs and WWII wrecks. Diving and snorkeling are popular activities in Palau. Other attractions include jungle treks, kayaking and bird watching.

Palau's cuisine is a mix of Filipino, Chinese, Japanese and Palauan influences. Popular dishes include kelaguen (a spicy dish made with chicken, lemon and chili peppers), rice and red bean soup (a sweet soup made with rice, red beans and coconut milk) and fish wrapped in banana leaves (a dish made with fish, rice, coconut milk and spices, wrapped in banana leaves and steamed).
