Krasnogorsk is a small town in the Moscow region, Russia, located on the banks of the Krasnaya River (Red River), 54 kilometers west of Moscow. The town was founded in 1777 as a settlement for workers building the Krasnogorskoye Dam on the Moscow Canal. The name Krasnogorsk means "beautiful view."
