Krasnogorsk is a small town in the Moscow region, Russia, located on the banks of the Krasnaya River (Red River), 54 kilometers west of Moscow. The town was founded in 1777 as a settlement for workers building the Krasnogorskoye Dam on the Moscow Canal. The name Krasnogorsk means "beautiful view."

Krasnogorsk is a popular tourist destination, with many attractions including the Church of the Ascension, the Krasnogorskoye Dam, the Krasnaya River, and the Old Village. The town also has a number of museums, including the Museum of the Russian Water Transport, the Museum of the Moscow Canal, and the Museum of the Russian Army.
