The Cueva de las Manos is a cave in the Santa Cruz province of Argentina, famous for its rock paintings. The cave lies in a valley of the Río Pinturas, a tributary of the Río Santa Cruz. It is located in the northwest of the province, in the Los Cardones National Park.
The cave was discovered in 1947 by a group of local ranchers. It soon became famous for the paintings of hands, which are abundant throughout the cave. The paintings are thought to be at least 9,000 years old, and were made by the ancestors of the present-day Puelche people.
The cave has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
