La Falda, a mountain town in Argentina's Córdoba province, sits at the foot of Cerro El Cuadrado and Cerro La Banderita. You can swim in natural pools beneath waterfalls at 7 Cascades park, drive through wildlife exhibits at Tatu Carreta Ecological Park, or explore the grand halls of the Eden Hotel where Albert Einstein once stayed. Located 79 km from Córdoba city, La Falda has become a key stop in the Punilla Valley tourist circuit.

Getting to La Falda

La Falda lies 81 km from Córdoba's International Airport. Regular buses run from Córdoba city to La Falda, or you can drive along the main highway through the Punilla Valley. The town center sits 934 meters above sea level, with mild temperatures year-round.

Exploring the 7 Cascades

The 7 Cascades park has a 3-kilometer network of walking paths connecting its waterfalls. You can swim in the large public pool or hike the surrounding trails for views over the Punilla Valley. The main circuit takes about 2 hours to complete at a relaxed pace.

Adventure Activities

You can rent windsurfing and water skiing equipment at La Falda Dam. Local guides lead tours along former Rally Argentina competition routes, ranging from paved roads to mountain gravel tracks. Many trails are suitable for mountain biking, with rental shops in the town center.

Unique Experiences Near Town

El Silencio, a 17th-century colonial castle 10 km from downtown, has trout-filled streams and marked walking paths through its grounds. At Tatu Carreta Ecological Park, 8 kilometers from the center, you drive your own vehicle through wildlife exhibits where you can spot local species like guanacos and exotic animals.

The Eden Hotel Museum

Built in 1897, the Eden Hotel now operates as a museum. Walk up the Carrara marble stairs, see the industrial-scale washing rooms, and examine exhibits about daily life from the 1920s-1940s. The museum includes photographs of past guests like Einstein and Argentine presidents. Exhibits also document the building's controversial period of Nazi connections before World War II.
