Vila dos Remédios is the main village in the Fernando de Noronha island.
The island itself is one of the most beautiful natural places I have ever been. The beaches (especially Sancho, Cacimba do Padre and Baía dos Porcos) are breathtaking. Wonderful place for being outside and relax.
Depending on which time of the year you'll find flat sea or big waves.
The food is good overall, but nothing special particularly. There are some fancy stuff you can do if you're up to, but there's no need at all.
The vibe here is get up early and cease the day. The sooner you get to the beaches less people will be there.
