Sudbury is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is the largest city in Northern Ontario by population, with a population of 161,531 at the 2016 census. Sudbury is located in the Sudbury Basin, a geological crater formed by the collision of a meteorite with the Earth's surface. It is adjacent to Lake Huron, just north of the Greater Sudbury region.
The city is known for its large nickel deposits. The Sudbury Basin is the largest nickel-producing area in the world, and most of the mines are located in the city. Sudbury is also home to a major science centre, the Science North complex. The city's cultural attractions include the Big Nickel, a statue of a giant nickel, and the Sudbury Theatre Centre.
