I had just come home from a long day at work, and needed some time to just take in the beauty of this city. I struggled to find parking, worrying I would lose the last of the light for the evening. I wandered around Olympic Village (where this shot was taken), and ended up finding this… only to realize I forgot my tripod. I quickly set my camera down on the uneven ground, and made a makeshift “stand” by levelling out the camera with the strap… And the shot captured the essence of Vancouver beautifully: a cityscape surrounded by beautiful mountains and the ocean grasping at its shores. | Vancouver in Canada

City in 🇨🇦 Canada with a population of around 600 thousand people.

With its dramatic setting on the edge of the Pacific Ocean and its lush mountain backdrop, Vancouver is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. The downtown core is a lively mix of high-rise office towers, trendy restaurants and bars, and heritage buildings, while the surrounding neighbourhoods offer everything from hipster enclaves to leafy family-friendly areas. Stanley Park, with its towering evergreen forests, miles of seawall walks, and world-famous aquarium, is a must-visit, and Granville Island, with its bustling market and lively arts scene, is a favourite spot for locals and visitors alike. Add in a thriving nightlife, plenty of shopping, and a wealth of outdoor activities, and it’s easy to see why Vancouver is such a popular destination.
