This historic city in the heart of Switzerland is crammed with interesting architecture, tasty restaurants and buzzing nightlife. The cobbled streets and ancient squares are the perfect place to while away an afternoon, while the surrounding mountains make for some of the best hiking and skiing in the world. Don’t miss the impressive Cathedral of St. Maria Himmelfahrt, the largest church in Graubünden, or the atmospheric old town, where you can still see the original city walls. Chur is also a great base for exploring the rest of Switzerland – Lucerne, Bern and Zurich are all within easy reach.
