Dongguan is a city in southern China, located in the Pearl River Delta region. Formerly a small town, Dongguan has experienced rapid growth since the 1980s as it became a manufacturing hub. The city is now home to factories belonging to some of the world's largest companies, including Apple, Samsung, and Nike. While Dongguan's factories produce much of the world's consumer goods, the city itself is not a major tourist destination. However, Dongguan is a convenient base for exploring other cities in the region, including Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Hong Kong.
