Skikda is a port city in northeastern Algeria, on the Mediterranean Sea. It is the capital of Skikda Province. The city is located about 380 kilometers (240 mi) east of Algiers. Skikda is a fishing port and is also known for its phosphate exports. The city has a few industries, including a steel mill, a fertilizer plant, and a winery. There is also a military airport nearby.
