Nadi is the main town on Fiji's main island, Viti Levu. It's a busy, bustling place, and the jumping-off point for most visitors to the country. Most people come to Nadi to catch a flight to one of the other islands, but it's worth spending a day or two here to see the town's markets, beaches and restaurants. The town is centred around Nadi Bay, with the airport on one side and the main town and bus station on the other. The area around the bus station is the busiest, with markets, shops and restaurants. There's a good range of accommodation here, from backpacker hostels to upmarket resorts. Nadi is a great place to relax, with some good beaches close to town. The main beach is at Denarau, a few kilometres north of Nadi. There's also a beach at Wailoaloa, on the opposite side of the bay from the town.
