Tkvarcheli is a small town in the breakaway republic of Abkhazia. It’s located in a picturesque valley, flanked by the snow-capped peaks of the Caucasus Mountains. The town is home to a large Russian military base, which dominates the skyline. Tkvarcheli was heavily damaged during the 1992-1993 Abkhazian War, but has been rebuilt and is now a quiet and peaceful place.
