Tkvarcheli is a small town in the breakaway republic of Abkhazia. It’s located in a picturesque valley, flanked by the snow-capped peaks of the Caucasus Mountains. The town is home to a large Russian military base, which dominates the skyline. Tkvarcheli was heavily damaged during the 1992-1993 Abkhazian War, but has been rebuilt and is now a quiet and peaceful place. There are a few churches and mosques in the town, as well as a few small museums. The main attraction, however, is the natural scenery. The town is surrounded by forests and mountains, and there are several hiking trails in the area. There are also a few small rivers and lakes, which are perfect for swimming in the summer.
