Nusa Dua is a luxurious resort area on Bali's southern coast. Its white sand beaches, golf courses, and high-end hotels appeal to travelers seeking a refined tropical getaway. You can relax on Geger Beach, play a round at the Bali National Golf Club, or visit the Pasifika Museum to learn about regional art. Along the coast, you can watch waves crash against the rocks at the Water Blow.

Beaches and Water Activities

Nusa Dua's beaches are calm and clean. Geger Beach, a public beach, has soft white sand and clear turquoise waters for swimming. Local vendors rent sun loungers and umbrellas. For more active pursuits, go to Tanjung Benoa just north of Nusa Dua for jet skiing, parasailing, and banana boat rides. You can snorkel right off Nusa Dua Beach by swimming out to a reef with colorful fish.

Luxury Resorts and Spas

Nusa Dua has many upscale resorts, including St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton, and Mulia. These resorts have amenities like infinity pools, private beach access, and high-end restaurants. Most have extensive spa facilities for Balinese massage and beauty treatments. Even if you're not staying at a high-end resort, you can often buy a day pass to use their facilities or eat at their restaurants.

Golfing

The Bali National Golf Club is an 18-hole course with ocean views. After renovations in 2013, it's now considered one of the best courses in Asia. You'll play through tropical landscapes, with the 17th hole requiring a tee shot over a ravine.

Cultural Sites

While Nusa Dua focuses on resorts, you can still experience Balinese culture. The Pasifika Museum has a collection of art from Bali, Southeast Asia, and the South Pacific. Its exhibits display the region's artistic traditions. For local religious life, visit Puja Mandala, an unusual complex with five different places of worship side by side - a Hindu temple, a mosque, a Buddhist temple, a Catholic church, and a Protestant church.

Getting There and Around

Nusa Dua is about a 30-minute drive from Bali's Ngurah Rai International Airport. Most hotels provide airport transfers, or you can take a taxi. In Nusa Dua, you can walk on well-maintained sidewalks and through gardens. For longer trips, use hotel shuttles or taxis. Consider alternatives to renting a scooter due to limited parking and the manicured nature of the resort area.

Best Time to Visit

Nusa Dua has a tropical climate with a dry season from April to October and a wet season from November to March. The dry season typically has sunny days and lower humidity, but it's also the busiest and most expensive time. If you don't mind occasional rain, visit during April-May or September-October for a mix of good weather and smaller crowds.
