Matsudo is a city located in the Chiba Prefecture of Japan. It is situated in the eastern portion of the Kantō region, and is part of the Greater Tokyo Area. The city is best known for its role as the headquarters of the Japan Railways East Japan (JR East) company.
Matsudo is a relatively small city, with a population of just over 500,000. However, it is a vital transportation and commercial center, and is home to a number of important businesses and institutions. The city is well-connected to the rest of Japan by an extensive rail network, and is also close to both Tokyo and Narita International Airport.
