Latvia

Latvia is a small country with a lot of forests and lakes located in the Baltics, between Estonia and Lithuania.

The main reasons to visit Latvia are the nature, the history, and the food. Latvia has a rich history dating back to the 13th century. Riga is a particularly interesting and lively city, with a mix of medieval and Art Nouveau architecture. There are also many opportunities for outdoor activities, such as hiking in the many beautiful nature reserves and swimming at the pretty beaches of the Baltic sea. Along the coast, you will find several traditional and picturesque resort towns such as Jūrmala.

The food in Latvia is often underrated. Latvian cuisine is a mix of Russian, German, and Scandinavian influences. Some popular dishes include pelmeni (dumplings), kotlete (potato pancakes), and sklandudes (pancakes with cottage cheese).
