Bougainville is an island located in the northeast of Papua New Guinea. The island is surrounded by coral reefs and is covered in tropical rainforest. Bougainville is a popular destination for hikers, who can explore the island's many trails. The Bougainvillea flower is named after the island, and is found in abundance here. The island's capital and largest city is Buka.
