Banská Štiavnica is a charming old town in central Slovakia, located in a valley at the foot of the Štiavnica Mountains. The town is dominated by a hilltop castle and the narrow streets and alleyways of the old town are lined with colourful houses and Gothic churches. There are several thermal springs in the area and the town is also a popular spa resort.
