Kremenchuk is an industrial city in the Poltava Oblast of central Ukraine. It is the administrative center of the Kremenchuk Raion (district), and is located on the banks of the Dnieper River. Kremenchuk is a city of around 240,000 people. The city was founded in 1780 by Grigory Potemkin. It is a significant railway junction and is home to the Kremenchuk Hydroelectric Station.
