Akron
Akron is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Summit County. It is located on the Cuyahoga River in the Great Lakes region of the country. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 199,110. Akron is the principal city of the Akron Metropolitan Statistical Area, which covers Summit and Portage counties and had a population of 703,200 in the 2010 census. Akron was founded in 1825 by Simon Perkins and Eliakim Crosby. It was named for Akron, Ohio, the hometown of Perkins and Crosby.
