If you want to experience the American dream, there’s no better place to do it than in Los Angeles. From the glamour of Hollywood to the vastness of the desert, LA is a city of contrasts that never fails to amaze visitors. The iconic Hollywood sign is a must-see, as is the Walk of Fame and the star-studded Sunset Strip. If you’re looking for a bit of nature, head to Griffith Park or the Santa Monica Pier. And no trip to LA would be complete without a trip to Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. With so much to see and do, LA is a city that never fails to disappoint.

What people say about Los Angeles

I really did not like Los Angeles. It's not my scene. People weren't very friendly, everything was extremely overpriced. For example, I ordered a sandwich from a cafe, and it was tiny, unsatisfying, and cost $13. Don't get me wrong, you can definitely good food in LA, but it's going to cost. The main memory I have from LA is a man pooping on the street, wiping with his hand, and then wiping his used hand on a bus stop poll... I can't make this stuff up! There were some things I did enjoy, though. I did a hike up to the Hollywood sign which was a lot fun and hung out the observatory area! I also checked out some of LAs districts like Long Beach and Venice Beach, which were a lot better.

Los Angeles didn't really feel like one big city to me, it felt more like a collection of smaller cities of varying qualities. Some are nice, some are pretty awful. Sometimes there is only a nice street or two surrounded by traffic and crappy neighborhoods. You need a car to get pretty much anywhere and the whole city seems defined by this fact. Of course, you can get a great meal, there are good beaches, and there is plenty of entertainment with concerts and other events. But you can find all that in plenty of nicer places. I doubt that I will go back, it is probably the least enjoyable city of its size that I have ever been to.
