Green Bay

Football, beer and frozen lake parties

Located on Lake Michigan's western shore, this Wisconsin city centers around NFL's Packers and Lambeau Field. The compact downtown has local shops and eateries, while the bay draws anglers and paddlers.

Green Bay, Wisconsin sits at the mouth of Fox River where it meets Lake Michigan. The city extends beyond its famous NFL team, the Green Bay Packers - you can watch rehabilitated wildlife at the Bay Beach Sanctuary, explore a 1672 French settlement at Heritage Hill, or ice skate under the stars at Titletown. Throughout the year, locals and visitors fill the City Deck boardwalk, kayak the Fox River, and gather for events at the Meyer Theatre.

Exploring Lambeau Field

Lambeau Field anchors Green Bay's sports culture. Take a daily stadium tour to walk through the players' tunnel and see the field up close, learn about team history at the Packers Hall of Fame, or browse team gear at the Pro Shop. Next door, the Titletown district transforms seasonally - play catch on the full-size football field in summer, or grab a sled for the 40-foot tubing hill and glide around the figure-eight ice skating rink in winter.

Museums and Cultural Sites

Walk through railroad history at the National Railroad Museum among more than 100 pieces of equipment and locomotives. At Heritage Hill State Historical Park, 24 buildings across 50 acres tell stories from different eras - step into original structures from 1672 French settlements, explore an 1836 frontier fort, and see early 1900s Belgian farm buildings. The Neville Public Museum covers art, science, and regional history, while kids can touch and play with exhibits at the Children's Museum.

Waterfront Activities

Paddle the Fox River in a rented kayak from downtown outfitters or join guided river tours to spot local wildlife. The City Deck, a quarter-mile boardwalk, lines the riverfront with restaurants and public spaces. At Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, walk six miles of hiking trails through 600 acres where staff care for more than 4,500 animals each year.

Getting Around Green Bay

Drive between most city attractions in under 20 minutes. Metro Transit runs 13 bus routes throughout the metropolitan area. Cyclists and walkers can use the Fox River State Trail to reach nearby De Pere and Bellevue. Green Bay-Austin Straubel International Airport connects directly to Chicago, Denver, and Minneapolis.

Arts and Entertainment

Watch Broadway shows and concerts at the Meyer Theatre and Weidner Center. During ArtStreet each August, downtown streets fill with 200+ artist booths, multiple stages of live music, and art workshops. The Resch Center, with space for 10,200 people, hosts major concert tours and sporting events throughout the year.
