Hialeah is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, the population was 224,669. It is the sixth-largest city in Florida.
Hialeah is located west-northwest of Miami, and is the second largest city in the Miami metropolitan area. The city's name is most commonly attributed to Muscogee Creek word hiawatha, meaning "pretty water".
Hialeah has a strong Cuban cultural influence and is home to many Cubans and Cuban Americans.
