Lawrence is a city in northeastern Kansas, in the United States. It is the county seat of Douglas County, and the largest city in the Kansas City metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the city's population was 87,643. Lawrence is home to the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University.
