Rancho Mirage is a desert resort city in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 17,155 at the 2010 census, up from 13,249 at the 2000 census.
Rancho Mirage was founded in 1959 by Jack Wrather, who purchased the Agua Caliente Indian Reservation and developed a luxury resort on the site. The city took its name from the original Spanish name for the area, Rancho del Mirage.
