Tempe is a city located in the East Valley of the Phoenix metropolitan area in Arizona. It is the sixth most populous city in the state of Arizona, with a population of 161,719 at the 2010 census. The city is named after the Vale of Tempe in Greece. Tempe is known for its annual arts and culture festivals, including the Tempe Festival of the Arts, the Tempe Fall Festival of the Arts, the Tempe Diablos baseball team, the Tempe Renaissance Fair, and the Tempe Greek Festival. The city's cultural attractions also include the Arizona Museum of Natural History, the Tempe Center for the Arts, and the Tempe Symphony Orchestra.
