Villa Los Coihues

Villa Los Coihues sits 12 kilometers from San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, along the shores of Lake Gutiérrez. This mountain community spreads between the peaks of Cerro Otto and Cerro Viejita. Location and Access

You can reach Villa Los Coihues from downtown Bariloche in 30 minutes via Provincial Route 82. The village's distance from the city center means fewer cars and less noise, yet you can still get to restaurants and shops easily. The local airport is 30 kilometers away, and Cerro Catedral ski area is 9.6 kilometers from the village center.

Mountain Geography

Two peaks frame the neighborhood - Cerro Otto and Cerro Viejita (also known as Cerro La Vieja or Cerro San Martín). Lake Gutiérrez forms the community's eastern border, with hiking paths leading into the national park. The 3-kilometer Cascada de los Duendes trail takes you to a 20-meter waterfall. The area's elevation ranges from 800 to 1,273 meters above sea level, giving each street a unique view of the surrounding peaks.
