Heard and McDonald Islands World Heritage Area

The Heard and McDonald Islands World Heritage Area is one of the most remote and pristine places on Earth. The uninhabited islands are located in the middle of the Southern Ocean, more than 2,000 kilometres from the nearest landmass. They are home to some of the most extraordinary wildlife on the planet, including vast colonies of seabirds and marine mammals.
